What is 6-0?
A few months ago, on April 22, a terrorist attack in Phalagam, Pakistan, targeted people based on their religion, resulting in the deaths of 26 innocent individuals. In response to this terror attack, India's national security architecture demonstrated the strength of joint operations and strategic foresight. Operation SINDOOR, launched on May 7, 2025, destroyed several terror camps in Pakistan.
The "6-0" gesture refers to a false claim in Pakistan that six Indian Air Force aircraft were allegedly shot down during Operation SINDOOR in May. According to the Indian Air Force, no aircraft were destroyed by Pakistan, debunking this claim entirely.
However, during the four match of the Asia Cup between India and Pakistan, Haris Rauf was seen chanting "6-0" during Pakistan’s training session the day before the match.
Has Action Been Taken Against Haris Rauf for Controversial '6-0' Gesture?
Following the Asia Cup Super 4 match between India and Pakistan on Sunday, Haris Rauf faced significant criticism for his on-field gestures. He wasn’t alone; Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan also sparked controversy with an offensive 'AK47' celebration using his bat after scoring a fifty.
Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan, speaking on his YouTube channel, strongly criticized the Pakistani players. "I want to address the celebrations. Sahibzada Farhan, you’re aware of the tensions between the two nations. Haris Rauf, too—I thought he was a decent person when I met him in Australia a few years ago. The gestures he made on the field yesterday were unnecessary. They reflect their character and upbringing," Pathan said.
